April 23 MBA Finale Celebration Graduating MBA students celebrated their accomplishments with food, photos, and dancing! Additional highlights include awarding the MBA Faculty Member of theYear and a slide show of amusing photos that brought back some greatmemories! First year MBA students joined in on the fun as well. April 17 MBBA Picnic Full-time and Part-time MBA students, along with faculty, staff, and families met at the local park for cooking and fun! Another event provided free of charge to MBAA members. April 9 MBA/PMBA Happy Hour Full-time and Part-time MBA students were given the opportunity to meet and network with one another in a comfortable setting with appetizers and drinks. As part-time MBA students have classes in the evenings, it can be difficult to meet with their counterparts in the full-time program. Feedback was extremely positive and another social event is being planned! April 5 Team MBA Kickoff Meeting & Fundraiser Lunch Team MBA is a national effort by MBA programs across the country to join together and fundraise for a variety of charities. The University of Illinois MBA Program is working to benefit the Eastern Illinois Foodback and began its Team MBA efforts this week with a kickoff meeting followed by selling lunches to students for donations. The MBA Association executive board and Service Association have been involved. April 3 MBAA Spring Gala A fun semi-formal event with appetizers, drinks, and dancing! Students dressed in their best and caught up with classmates. The MBAA hosts one gala each semester: Spring and Winter. March 15 Town Hall Meeting hosted by MBAA Students were given the opportunityto meet with Dean Stig Lanesskog, MBA Academic Director Nick Pertizzi, the MBAA Board, and fellow classmates to discuss their thoughts, comments, concerns on the program. Town Hall meetings are a great way to keep students, faculty, and administration on the same page and allow everyone to voice their thoughts in an open and constructive atmosphere. February 27 Chinese Lantern Festival by Diversity Association A new event to the MBA Program! Students were immersed in the traditions of the Chinese Lantern Festival and were treated to games, dances, music, and authentic Chinese food. A phenomenal learning experience in a family-friendly atmosphere. MBAA members received free admission. February 25 MBA/LER Social Event Students from the MBA and LER (Labor and Employment Relations) Programs networked in a comfortable setting; one of many opportunities where MBA students meet with students outside their department February 19 Leadership Speaker Series by Women in Business A chance to hear accomplished professional women discuss their career paths
